HISTORY
Some prestigious initiatives, like the restoration of the collection of the "Museo del Teatro alla Scala", of the "Museo Correr" in Venice and the foundation of the Scuola di liuteria of Milan, have allowed us the acquisition of indispensable know-how for the implementation of a project which is completely new in our field: the establishment of a genuinely modern company that still maintains the traditions of historical harpsichord construction.
The idea goes back to the beginning of the 90s and is based on the principle of organizing all the craft activities related to the production of a harpsichord, according to the management criteria of a modern company.
The results achieved can be seen in our production numbers, which have grown from 12 to 75 harpsichords per year, built entirely by our artisans and sold in 28 different Countries. The main reason for this rapid growth lies really in the efficiency of our system, which offers top class quality at very competitive prices.
Our structure is typical of many Italian home-managed firms, well known for efficiency and high productivity. Our founder, Mr. Guido Bizzi, after achieving a PhD degree in mechanical engineering at Turin Polytechnic, decided to concentrate on both the artistic and managerial fields.
On the musical side he specialised in baroque singing and played renaissance instruments, mainly manufactured by himself. He gave concerts in Italy and abroad, achieving good reviews from world-renowned critics. As an entrepreneur, he set up a company dealing with the construction of plants for the production of steel wires and cables. The firm is still among the leading companies worldwide in this field of activity.
His profound knowledge of the processes of wire drawing, including the so called music wire, together with the corresponding artistic experience, led him to decide to tackle a fascinating theme of the production of harpsichords.
His wife Luisa plays a fundamental role in the management of the firm; she has experience as job consultant and was managing director in an important carpentry firm. Their sons too, although still students, already make a significant contribution to the running of the firm.
