The State Open Pedagogical University of Moscow after M.A.Shólokhov

It is one of the first pedagogical Universities of Russia, where nowadays involved more than 35,000 students. The students have a great diversity of faculties where they can study such subjects as Foreign Philology, Computer Science, History, languages, Pedagogic, Psychology, etc. An important place in teaching students of higher level occupies the faculty of Culture and Musical Arts of this University.

The professional musical education of a secondary level in Russia starts at schools of music in an early age and lasts up to 10-11 years and then continues at the institutions of higher level, such as Conservatories where they are trained as musician-performers, and/or at the Pedagogical Universities, whose alumnae are not only musician-performers, but also professors of music qualified to teach at the musical educational institutions of different levels (elementary, secondary, higher and post-graduate).
