Constellation Center, closer to reality
12-09-2007
Plans for a multi-chambered baroque concert complex are inching closer to the phases of fundraising and building. The president of the Constellation Center Project, Glenn KnicKrehm hosted a lecture at the Boston Early Music Festival on the procedures of building a proper baroque opera theater and concert hall.

The lecture room was hot and packed—probably the most popular lecture during the weeklong festival. The land, near Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts has been bought and marked off for building, and the long process of obtaining permits is ongoing.

The four halls under the one Constellation Center roof are being meticulously designed to provide the best acoustics, lighting and sight lines possible, depending on the composition date of the music or drama. It’s an ideal architectural dream begun early this century, which is daily coming closer to reality.
