The 2007 festival comprises 25 events over 4 weekends in venues across Brighton and Hove. There is a feast of music from the middle ages to Mozart, around the theme of Transformations and Improvisations. "Music by its very nature is open to endless variety and interpretation in live performance," adds Deborah Roberts. "In this year's festival we explore familiar music in different guises. For example Bach's Art of Fugue, which was written for no specific scoring, will act as a leitmotif throughout the festival, appearing in concerts by various artists in different arrangements."
With two live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3's The Early Music Show, artists in the 2007 festival include:
· Emma Kirkby and Jakob Lindberg exploring the music of Dowland and Purcell as well as an interview programme which will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 - An Audience with Emma Kirkby
