Woven through the weekend are a series of performances including a demonstration lecture on the rhetorical language of Bach’s cello suites given by Judy Tarling and Susan Sheppard, and a celebration of David Munrow given by James Bowman and Nicholas Clapton (countertenors), John Turner and David Pugsley (recorders), Ian Thompson (harpsichord) and Jonathan Price (cello).
There’s also a celebration of the 300th anniversary of the publication of The Divison Flute — Part One given by Emma Murphy (recorders), William Lyons (dulcian and recorder) Jamie Akers (theorbo and baroque guitar), David Hatcher (gamba) and Steven Devine (harpsichord), and a programme of motets by Praetorius given by students from Trinity College of Music, directed by Philip Thorby.
