Parsons is one of those few artists capable of performing on both Renaissance and Baroque lute, and the 19th-century guitar. This has led him to be considered as a performer with a wide repertoire and his programmes include music from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
Above all, Parsons has been defined as a great communicator of music, a performer capable of reaching and moving the audience. As a concert artist he has performed throughout Europe, including festivals in England, Belgium, France, Poland, Spain, Germany, Norway and the United States.
He has also broadcast on the BBC and European radio and television stations. His recordings have met with considerable interest and include music by composers such as Bach, Monteverdi and Cavalli, as well as some of the greatest guitar composers including Sor and Tárrega.
Together with Marianna Szücs and Francisco del Amo he recently formed The Haydn Lute Trio, a group specialising in the music of this composer and his contemporaries.
