This year the Festival Brezice Group will consist of two parts: the Klasikaa early music festival and Euronetwork, a series of concerts given by a group of young musicians that comes from different countries. In its 2004 edition, the festival will focus on the Netherlands.
The Klasikaa festival will be celebrated in some of the most beautiful venues of Slovenia such as the Fuzine Castle Ljubljana, the Knight's Hall of the Brezice Posavski Museum, the Knight's Hall of the Mokrice Castle, and the Monastery Church of Bozidar Jakac Gallery in Kostanjevica na Krki.
The festival has scheduled 10 concerts for its 2004 edition. The Dutch ensembles Barokorkest van der Koniklijke Konservatorium Den-Haag, The New Dutch Academy, Camerata Trajectina, Ensemble Séverin and Trigon; the Italian groups Micrologus and Montis Regalis Jeunesse; the Austrian Debut Junger Sänger, the Spanish Zarabanda and the French Les Musiciens de Monsieur Croche ensembles have been invited to take part in the festival. As it has been done since the beginnings of the festival in 1997, the Slovene national radio will record all the Klasikaa festival concerts.
Euronetwork is an international young talents exchange programme that works with music academies, festivals and music centres in Slovenia, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Belgium and the Netherlands. It works in co-operation with other European organizations as the International Young Artist's Presentation Antwerpen 2003 (Belgium), the Masarykova univerzita v Brne, Filosofická fakulta, Akademie staré hudby (Czech Republic), the Akademia muzyczna w Krakowie (Poland), the Accademia Europea di Musica Antica Bolzano (Italy), and the Aestas Musica Varazdin (Croatia). The musicians that are chosen and accepted in it have the possibility to perform abroad and thus open new doors for their future professional career.
The Festival Brezice Group has programmed, from July 27 to August 15, a series of 19 concerts within the frame of this programme.
