10-11-2003
Jan Josef Ignác Brentner (1689-1742) is one of the many composers from the Central European Baroque that still remain completely unknown. Records like the one the Czech label Nibiru has just released, start to do justice and recover this immense patrimony.

Brentner was born in Dobrany and lived in Prague a great part of his life composing music for the religious services of different churches in the Czech capital. The record gathers different religious pieces performed by the Ensemble Inegal under the direction of Adam Viktoria.

The group formed by 20 instrumentalists was created in 2000 and specializes in the performance of vocal and instrumental music of the 17th to the 20th centuries.
