The initial part of the festival will take place from 1-20 December. A new version of Victoria’s Requiem performed by the Capella de Ministrers and the Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana conducted by Carles Magraner has been chosen for the inauguration, a program that was premiered last year in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York.
The festival continues on 2 and 3 December with Mozart’s “Great” C-minor Mass, K427 performed by the Ensemble of Lausanne. On 12 and 13 December the Savall-Hantai duo will perform works by Bach. On 15 December Karine Deshayes (mezzo) and the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, conducted by Reinhard Goebel, will perform works by Handel, Bach and Telemann. On 16 December the Calmus Vocal Ensemble of Leipzig will introduce a programme of music for Christmas featuring works by Lassus, Pachelbel and Bach.
