From 27 to 30 July.
The festival is now in its fifth year and once again it features the excellent Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra conducted by Koopman, in addition to an important line-up of performers.
The Ensemble Zefiro inaugurate the Festival on 27 July, with a program of works by Handel, Telemann, Fasch, Haydn and Mozart. Koopman’s orchestra will perform for the first time on 28 July with an all-Handel program and close the festival on 30 July with an all-Mozart program featuring the tenor Jörg Dürmüller.
But the most important festival date, the "Itinerary day", is Saturday 29 July with a host of concerts scheduled in the churches of Celles, Saint Paul Lizonne, Saint Martial de Viveyrol, Saint Sulpice de Roumagnac, Bourg-du-Bost and Saint Méard de Dronne. There will be music performed by the Ensemble Sirocco, Rosa Menenguez, Tini Mathot, Catherine Cok, Anna Zander, Mike Fentross, Fabio Bonizzoni and Ton Koopman himself practically continuously from 11 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
As an appetizer to the festival, on 2 July the Egidius Kwartet ensemble present the program "Un bestiaire polyphonique" based around Renaissance vocal music by Marenzio, Clemens non Papa, Gallus, Desprez and Lassus, among others.
