The opera Il Retorno d´Ulises of Claudio Monteverdi was performed at the Theater de Cae, on March 13 and 15. The performance was ran by the Ricecart Consort, directed by Philippe Pierlot at both occasions. Furio Zanasi performed Ulise´s role, Kristina Hammarstrom Penelope's role, Jan Kobow acted as Pisandro and Telemaco, and Marek Rzepka performed Antino and Neptune's role.
Next Saturday, March 20, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment under director Emmanuel Haim will present a concert version of Marc Antoine Charpentier´s opera David et Jonathas. The performance will be held at the Theatre des Champs Elysees of Paris. The singers Mark Padmore (David), Jael Azzaretti (Jonathas), Laurent Nauri (Saul) and Andrew Foster-Williams (Acis) will take part in it along with The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment.
The opera Antigona, composed by Tomasso Traetta, will be performed four times at the end of March. The performances, all of them in concert version, will be held at The Opera Comedie de Montpellier during March 21, 23, 26 and 28. Les Talents Lyriques will be in charge of the performance of Antigona, under director Christopher Rousset. They will share stage with Maria Bayo (Antigona), Marina Comparato (Ismene), Kobie Van Resburg (Creonte), Laura Polverelli (Emone) and Jhon McVeigh (Adraste).
Finally, The Stradivaria Ensemble directed by Daniel Cuiller along with the baroque dance company L'eventail will perform Jean Baptist Lully's L'amour Malade at L'Esplanade de Saint-Etienne. Isabelle Desroches, Marie-Louise Duthoit and Bernarf Deletre will also take part in the performance along with 16 dancers and 2 acrobats. There will also be a puppet's performance. This event will take place on March 26, 27 and 28.
