The recording is entitled "Sento l´aura soave", from a poem by Tetrarch that forms the text of the madrigals included in Il primo libro de madrigali by Flecha.
Maricarmen Gómez, one of the leading musicologists in the recovery of Spanish historic music has been responsible for the editing of the scores. As Ms. Gómez explains "there are only two copies of Il Primo Libro de Madrigali remaining, one of which is in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Munich and the other in the Nationalbibliothek, Vienna. The book of Flecha´s madrigals, which includes works in both the old and new style of madrigal, includes one for three voices, eight for four, eight for five, and one six voice madrigal, the book concluding with a dialogue for double choir".
Working with a group of young singers in an exemplary way, David Guindano, one of Spain’s most notable conductors, interprets Flecha´s madrigals excellently, managing to the create the sound, refinement, balance and feeling which were expected. Guindano points out that this was only possible thanks to the beauty of the music which has been completely unknown until now. He further comments on the surprise of the public on hearing this music: "It is the same as I felt the first time I approached this music. I went from madrigal to madrigal and I could not believe my eyes, and nor could I understand why this and so many other works are unknown".
