The Peñalosa-Ensemble vocal quartet and Dr. Clemens Goldberg are launching a new early music festival in southern Germany: Their aim in creating the Reutlinger Renaissancemusik-Festival is to give audiences a glimpse into one of the most exciting epochs in the history of the western world, the period of flux between the late 15th and early 17th centuries.

For two centuries, Bad Kissingen was one of the most fashionable spas for European nobility. Russian tsars, Bavarian kings, and the Emperor of Austria and his wife Sissi all came to take the waters and participate in the town’s flourishing social life.
