The 2008 Laus Polyphoniae Festival will embark on a journey of musical discovery through the cities that formed part of the Hanseatic League, an alliance of trading guilds active from the 13th to the 17th centuries, which controlled a territory stretching from the Baltic to the North Sea. At its peak, this immense network connected as many as 200 cities. LAUS POLYPHONIAE 2007 16/08/2007 25 August to 2 September. Last year’s Laus Polyphoniae Festival was dedicated to Franco-Flemish polyphony. This year 22 concerts spread over 9 days will explore the monophonic and polyphonic French repertoire from its earliest beginnings to approximately 1600. LAUS POLYPHONIAE 2006 : CONQUEST AND RECONQUEST 03/07/2006 The Antwerp Festival - “Laus Polyphoniae 2006” - is being held this year from 19 to 27 August under the general heading “Conquest and Reconquest” and focuses on some of the great works of the historical Spanish and Ibero-American repertoires. The participation of groups and individual artists from Spain and Latin America is eloquent proof of the growing interest in these repertoires throughout Europe.
