10 CDS FOR A DESERT ISLAND: RAQUEL ANDUEZA
Raquel Andueza
The soprano Raquel Andueza belongs to a new generation on the European music-scene and was born in Pamplona.

Her apprenticeship began at the Conservatorio Pablo Sarasate of her home city. She then furthered her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where in 2000 she obtained her Bachelor of Music with honours, and received the School Singing Prize.

That same year she met Richard Levitt, who has been her teacher ever since. She is a regular performer at Europe’s principal music festivals, working with such ensembles as El Concierto Español, Orphenica Lyra, Lyra Baroque Orchestra of Minneapolis and Al Ayre Español, among others.

She has been directed by some of our most outstanding conductors: William Christie, Sir Colin Davis, Luis Antonio González Marín, Emilio Moreno, Jacques Ogg, Fabio Biondi, Christian Curnyn, Eduardo López-Banzo and Ernest Martínez-Izquierdo.

Together with the ensemble La Trulla de Bozes she was awarded first prize at the XXVI Festival Van Vlaanderen in Bruges.

Additionally she forms part of the vocal and instrumental ensemble Los Mvsicos de Sv Alteza, with whom she maintains a demanding concert schedule. Since 2003 she has been a member of the vocal quartet La Colombina.
