   JAMES JOHNSTONE
In recent years James Johnstone's recital work has taken him to Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Israel and Colombia. He has performed throughout Europe and North America with most of the London-based period instrument ensembles, notably the Gabrieli Consort and Players. He directs his own chamber group, Ciaccona.

James Johnstone studied with Jill Severs, Kenneth Gilbert and Ton Koopman, and is now a professor of harpsichord and organ at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at Trinity College of Music.

His recording of works by Orlando Gibbons for harpsichord and virginals (ASV CD GAU 191) received the prestigious Deutsche Schallplatten prize.
